Terms of Service
Please read these Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) carefully before accessing or using the website www.strandasnowboards.com (the “Website”) or placing an order through the Website.
These Terms apply to purchases made through the Website and to your use of the Website. Separate or additional terms may apply to Stranda travel, clinics, courses, events, dealer orders or other services, where stated.
Stranda Snowboards AB, a Swedish limited liability company / aktiebolag registered in Sweden with corporate identity number 559048-5255, Swedish VAT number SE559048525501 and Norwegian VAT number NO 930207713, having its registered/postal address at c/o Monthan & Näsström Redovisning AB, Vetegatan 9, 118 59 Stockholm, Sweden, with contact address Snösundsvägen 40, 134 66 Ingarö, Sweden, and email address hithere@strandasnowboards.com (“Stranda”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
1. General
1.1 We sell snowboards, splitboards, bindings, accessories, apparel and related products through the Website. The Website is primarily intended for consumer purchases. If you are buying as a business, dealer, distributor or professional reseller, separate written terms may apply.
1.2 To place an order through the Website, you must be at least eighteen (18) years old or have the consent of your legal guardian.
1.3 By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is correct, that you are authorized to use the selected payment method, and that you accept these Terms.
1.4 We reserve the right to reject or cancel orders that are incomplete, incorrect, fraudulent, inconsistent with these Terms, inconsistent with our business policies, or made for unauthorized resale.
1.5 Product images, colours, descriptions, size recommendations and other product information are provided for guidance. Actual colours and visual details may vary depending on screens, devices, production batches and natural materials such as wood veneer.
1.6 Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
2. Ordering products
2.1 Products can be ordered by completing the checkout process on the Website. After you place an order, we will send an order confirmation to the email address you provided.
2.2 A binding purchase agreement is formed when we accept your order. If we cannot accept an order, for example because a product is unavailable or because of an obvious pricing or stock error, we will notify you and refund any amount already paid without undue delay.
2.3 You are responsible for checking the order confirmation and notifying us without undue delay if any details are incorrect, including product, size, shipping address, contact details or billing information.
2.4 Availability shown on the Website is not a guarantee of stock until the order has been accepted and processed.
3. Prices, taxes and payment
3.1 Prices are shown in the currency selected or made available for your market. Prices for customers within the European Union and Norway include applicable VAT/sales tax unless otherwise stated.
3.2 For customers outside the European Union and Norway, prices may be shown without VAT/sales tax. Local import duties, sales taxes, brokerage fees and customs charges may apply depending on the destination country. Unless expressly stated otherwise at checkout, these charges are the responsibility of the customer.
3.3 For U.S. customers, Stranda may ship orders from its U.S. warehouse when available. Where an order is fulfilled from the U.S. warehouse and the Website states that no tariffs will be added, no additional tariff will be charged by Stranda for that shipment. Local sales tax rules may still apply.
3.4 Any delivery costs or other additional charges will be clearly shown before you place your order.
3.5 Payment can be made using the payment methods offered on the Website from time to time. Current payment options may include card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Kustom and/or Stripe, depending on market and checkout availability. Klarna is a payment service made available through Kustom in selected markets, just as card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay may be made available through Kustom and/or Stripe. The available payment methods will be shown at checkout before you place your order.
3.6 If you experience payment issues, contact us at hithere@strandasnowboards.com and we may, at our discretion, offer an alternative payment method such as bank transfer or PayPal invoice.
4. Shipping and delivery
4.1 Orders will be delivered to the shipping address provided at checkout. You are responsible for ensuring that the delivery information is complete and correct.
4.2 Shipping is currently free for snowboards and splitboards unless otherwise stated on the Website or at checkout.
4.3 We use shipping partners such as FedEx, UPS and DHL. Delivery times shown on the Website are estimates only. Typical delivery time is 4-7 working days, but remote destinations and markets such as Australia may take up to approximately 14 days.
4.4 U.S. orders may be shipped from our warehouse in Washington State. Tracking information will be sent by email once the shipping partner has registered the package.
4.5 When you receive your order, please check the packaging and product as soon as reasonably possible. If the packaging or product is visibly damaged, or if the shipment does not match your order, please contact us without undue delay and provide photos where possible.
4.6 If a shipment is not collected or is refused, additional costs may arise. For customers outside the EU and Norway, refused or uncollected shipments may also lead to import charges or disposal by the carrier or customs authorities. These costs are not refundable unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
5. Right of withdrawal and voluntary returns
This section explains your return and withdrawal options. Which options apply to you depends on where you are located:
-
Customers in the EU, the EEA (including Norway and Iceland) and the United Kingdom have a statutory right of withdrawal (part A below) and may also use Stranda’s voluntary return policy (part B).
-
Customers in the United States and all other countries outside the EU, EEA and UK do not have this statutory right of withdrawal, but may use Stranda’s voluntary return policy (part B). The customs and tariff points in part C and in section 3 are particularly relevant to these orders.
The conditions of the voluntary policy in part B do not apply to, and do not limit, the statutory rights in part A. The general provisions in part C apply to all returns, wherever you are located.
A. Statutory right of withdrawal – EU, EEA (Norway and Iceland) and UK consumers
5.1 If you are a consumer buying online, you have a statutory right of withdrawal. Within the EU, Norway, Iceland and the United Kingdom this right normally gives you 14 days to withdraw from the purchase without giving a reason. The period starts on the day after you receive or collect the product.
5.2 You do not need our permission or approval to exercise this right. To withdraw, you only need to make a clear statement of your decision within the withdrawal period. You may do this by using the online withdrawal function on the Website, by sending a clear message to hithere@strandasnowboards.com, or by using the model withdrawal form at the end of these Terms. You do not need to use any specific wording.
5.3 After you have notified us of your withdrawal, you must send the product back without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day you notified us. You may arrange the return yourself. As a convenience, we can also provide you with a return label and instructions, but you do not need to wait for any approval from us before exercising your right of withdrawal or returning the product.
5.4 For statutory withdrawals where the product is not defective and the correct product was sent, you are responsible for the direct cost of returning the product. If we provide a return label at your request, we may deduct that direct return cost from your refund. We will tell you the cost before you use the label.
5.5 You may inspect and handle the product in the same way as you would reasonably be able to in a physical store. You are only liable for any reduction in the value of the product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functioning, and only where permitted by law.
5.6 We will refund the payments we received from you, including the standard delivery cost paid at checkout (but excluding any extra cost resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than our standard delivery). We will make the refund using the same payment method you used for the original purchase, unless otherwise agreed, and no later than 14 days after we are informed of your decision to withdraw. We may withhold the refund until we have received the product back, or until you have provided proof that you have sent it back, whichever happens first.
B. Stranda’s voluntary return policy – available to all customers worldwide
5.7 In addition to the statutory right of withdrawal, Stranda currently offers a voluntary 30-day return period for orders placed through the Website. This is a goodwill option that goes beyond your legal rights, and it does not limit or replace the statutory right of withdrawal in part A. This policy is available to all customers worldwide. For customers in the United States and other countries outside the EU, EEA and UK, it is the main return route, since the statutory right of withdrawal in part A does not apply to them.
5.8 To qualify for a voluntary return, the product must be unused and returned with its original packaging, including the shrinkwrap for snowboards and splitboards, hangtags, stickers, accessories and documentation. Because the voluntary policy is more generous than the law requires, these packaging and condition requirements apply, and if packaging, shrinkwrap, hangtags, stickers, accessories or documentation are missing, or the product’s value is otherwise reduced, we may make a reasonable deduction from the refund.
5.9 For voluntary returns, please contact us first so that we can issue return approval, return instructions and a return label, and so we can help you avoid unnecessary shipping or customs charges. You are responsible for the return shipping cost, which we will normally deduct from your refund, unless we agree otherwise in writing. Important to note is that transport damage during returns is customers responsibility.
5.10 Refunds for voluntary returns will normally be processed within 14 days after the returned product has been received and approved, using the same payment method as the original purchase unless otherwise agreed.
C. Provisions applying to all returns
5.11 Return address. Neither our registered/postal address nor our contact address (Snösundsvägen 40, 134 66 Ingarö) is a return address. Please do not send any product to either address. When you withdraw or request a return, we will provide the correct return address, together with any return label, return reference and other information you need to return the product, including customs information for international returns. If you are exercising the statutory right of withdrawal and have not yet received a return address, contact us at hithere@strandasnowboards.com and we will provide it without undue delay.
5.12 You are responsible for any loss of, or damage to, returned goods during return transport until the goods have been received by us at the return address stated in our instructions. Please keep proof of handover and tracking information until the return has been completed.
5.13 For returns from outside the EU and Norway, tariffs, import taxes, brokerage fees and customs charges may be significant and are normally not refundable by Stranda. Please contact us before returning a product from outside the EU and Norway so that we can provide instructions and help avoid unnecessary customs charges.
6. Defective products, complaints and warranty
6.1 If a product is defective, damaged or does not correspond to your order, please contact us at hithere@strandasnowboards.com as soon as possible. Include your order number, proof of purchase, a description of the problem and photos or videos showing the issue.
6.2 Consumers have mandatory legal rights regarding defective products. In Sweden, consumers generally have the right to complain about an original fault within three (3) years from receiving the product. A complaint made within two (2) months after discovering the fault is normally considered to have been made in time.
6.3 Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may be entitled to repair, replacement, price reduction, cancellation of the purchase, refund and/or compensation for loss. We will assess each claim in accordance with applicable mandatory consumer protection law.
6.4 In addition to your statutory rights, Stranda provides a voluntary 4-year limited warranty on snowboards sold through our online store or authorized dealers. This warranty applies to the original retail purchaser and covers defects in materials and/or craftsmanship under normal use and proper care for four (4) years from the date of purchase, unless otherwise stated.
6.5 The voluntary 4-year limited warranty is in addition to, and does not replace or limit, any statutory consumer rights.
Inspection and shipping costs
6.6 Statutory defect claims: where your claim concerns a defective or non-conforming product and the claim is valid, having the product brought into conformity is free of charge for you. We will provide a prepaid return label or reimburse the necessary cost of returning the product for repair, replacement or inspection, as required by mandatory consumer law. To help us assess and route your claim, please contact us first so we can arrange inspection or collection; we may ask you for photos, videos or further information before any product is sent.
6.7 Voluntary warranty claims: for claims made under the voluntary 4-year warranty (rather than your statutory rights), you are responsible for the cost of shipping the product to us for inspection, unless we agree otherwise in writing. If the warranty claim is approved, the reasonable inspection shipping cost you paid will be reimbursed, and return shipping for valid claims will be handled by Stranda.
6.8 The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage that does not affect performance, impact damage from rocks or other obstacles, scratches, chips, dents, abrasion, graphic fading, discoloration, cracks in lacquer or non-structural cracks on used snowboards, improper mounting of bindings, wrong screw length, spinning or stripped inserts caused by improper mounting hardware, misuse, abuse, neglect, accident damage, unauthorized modification or repair, or use contrary to product instructions or intended use. These warranty exclusions do not affect your mandatory statutory rights.
7. Exchanges
7.1 We are not able to process direct exchanges, but you can return your item and place a new order. Exchanges are subject to product availability. Please note that discounted items are final sale and cannot be returned.
7.2 Unless the exchange is due to a defect or an error by us, you are responsible for all return shipping costs and any price difference between the products. We will normally issue the return label and deduct or charge the return shipping cost as part of the exchange handling.
7.3 Because snowboard availability can be seasonal and limited, we cannot guarantee that a replacement size or model will be available.
8. Product use and safety
8.1 Snowboarding, splitboarding and backcountry travel involve inherent risks of injury or death. By purchasing or using Stranda products, you acknowledge that these risks are part of the sport.
8.2 You are responsible for proper setup, binding mounting, maintenance, inspection and use of the equipment, and for following applicable safety guidelines, resort rules, avalanche guidance, local regulations and manufacturer instructions.
8.3 To the extent permitted by law, Stranda Snowboards AB, its employees, representatives and affiliates are not liable for injury, loss or damage resulting from misuse, improper setup, lack of maintenance, use outside the intended purpose, or other circumstances outside Stranda’s control. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by mandatory law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or by a defective product.
9. Travel, clinics, courses and events
9.1 These Terms primarily apply to product purchases through the Website. Travel, clinics, snowboard courses, guided trips, events and similar services may be subject to separate booking terms, cancellation rules, insurance requirements and risk disclosures.
9.2 Where separate travel/clinic terms are provided, those terms will apply in addition to these Terms. In case of conflict, the specific travel/clinic terms apply to the travel, clinic, course or event.
9.3 You are responsible for ensuring that you have suitable travel, medical and accident insurance for any travel, clinic, course, event or backcountry activity, and for ensuring that your ability level matches the activity you book.
10. Personal data
10.1 We process personal data in order to provide the Website, process orders, deliver products, handle payments, provide customer service, manage returns and claims, send relevant communications and comply with legal obligations.
10.2 More information about how we process personal data is available in our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy, as published on the Website.
10.3 If you provide personal data relating to another person, for example a gift recipient or delivery contact, you are responsible for ensuring that you are allowed to provide that information to us.
11. Website use and intellectual property
11.1 All content on the Website, including text, product descriptions, graphics, images, designs, video, logos, trademarks and software, belongs to Stranda or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
11.2 You may use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, scrape, commercially exploit or otherwise use Website content without our prior written consent, except where permitted by law.
11.3 You may not use the Website in a way that damages, overloads, interferes with or compromises the Website, our systems, other users or our business operations.
12. Force majeure
12.1 We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where the failure or delay is caused by events outside our reasonable control.
12.2 Such events may include, without limitation, extreme weather, natural disasters, war, threat of war, terrorism, civil unrest, labour disputes, fire, flood, pandemic, government action, customs delays, carrier disruptions, supplier failures, technical failures or other similar events outside our control.
13. Amendments
13.1 We may update these Terms from time to time due to changes in law, our business, our Website or our policies.
13.2 The Terms that apply to your order are the Terms in force at the time we accepted your order. Changes will not affect orders already accepted unless required by mandatory law.
13.3 We recommend that you save or print a copy of the Terms that apply when placing an order.
14. Complaints, governing law and disputes
14.1 If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us first at hithere@strandasnowboards.com so that we can try to resolve the matter.
14.2 These Terms are governed by Swedish law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence that cannot be excluded by contract.
14.3 Disputes should, where possible, be resolved through dialogue. If a dispute cannot be resolved, Swedish consumers may contact the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes, Allmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN), Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, Sweden, www.arn.se. Stranda will participate in alternative dispute resolution where required by applicable law.
14.4 The European Commission’s former Online Dispute Resolution platform has been discontinued and should not be linked as a consumer complaint route. Consumers may instead use the consumer redress and advisory routes available in their country of residence, including ECC-Net for cross-border EU, Iceland and Norway matters where applicable.
14.5 Any court proceedings shall be handled by the competent courts under applicable law. As a consumer, you may have the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence where mandatory law provides this right.
