Choose your SPLITBOARD

Five unique splitboards designed for supreme ascent efficiency and extraordinary descent performance.

BIRU SPLITBOARD

Designed for hardpack to pow, steeps to trees performance
The Biru Splitboard is made for the backcountry rider who likes to bounce down the mountain hitting drops and slashing turns. It features a highly versatile, volume-shifted shape with a long nose, wide waist, and tapered tail. Paired with a tight sidecut, full camber profile, and Power Bumps, the Biru offers epic float in pow and unwavering edge hold in variable conditions. If you’re looking for a playful split that’s ready to dive into pow turns or confidently carve through natural terrain, look no further than the Biru. It comes in two sizes and should be ridden 4-6 cm shorter than your traditional freeride board size.

DESCENDER BACKCOUNTRY

Designed for all-terrain freeriding and freestyle
The Descender BC Splitboard is ready for anything the backcountry throws at you. It’s got the edge hold, float, and muscle power to charge down steep terrain in any snow condition. A directional shape with a full-sized tail, paired with a rocker camber profile, delivers epic pow performance and stomping power, while a medium flex, Power Bumps, and D3O dampening rods in the nose keep the Descender calm and stable in rough snow. If you ride technical lines that demand predictable edge control and stability or hit backcountry jumps, the Descender is your split. It comes in six sizes and should be ridden in your standard freeride board size. Size up for more float, size down for technical performance.

DESCENDER FJÄDERLÄTT

Designed for endurance days in the high alpine
The Descender Fjäderlätt Splitboard is a groundbreaking split designed for expert riders who travel deep into the backcountry to ride technical lines. It has the same shape, flex, and profile as the Descender BC Split, but it’s built with a full-length Triax Carbon weave, full Paulownia core, and aluminum stringers for maximum response and weight savings. If you often tour all day or throw your board on your pack to climb steep couloirs, the ultralight Fjäderlätt is your ultimate split. It’s available in three sizes and should be ridden in your standard freeride board size. Size up for more float, size down for technical performance.

TREE SURFER BACKCOUNTRY

Designed for deep pow and ripping through the forest
The Tree Surfer B.C Splitboard is a deep pow split that doesn’t suck when the snow turns. From blower pow to mashed potatoes, the Tree Surfer’s hammerhead nose and short swallowtail offer crazy float and surfy turn performance, while carbon stringers and a medium flex give it a damp, predictable board feel on hardpack. Blending freeride stability with powder surf turn performance, the Tree Surfer BC is your perfect split if you like to blast through open terrain, slice down gullies, or hunt for fresh tracks in the forest. It is available in one size and should be ridden in your standard freeride board size.

SHORTY BACKCOUNTRY

Designed for ripping pow and everyday touring
The Shorty Splitboard is a powder-hungry split with a friendly but high-performance board feel. A compact tapered tail paired with a long, rockered nose offers insane float, and a medium flex paired with a medium sidecut makes the Shorty easy to control when you’re moving fast through mixed conditions. The Shorty BC has a longer, less progressive sidecut than the Biru Splitboard or the Tree Surfer BC Splitboard, so it likes to arc bigger, faster turns. The Shorty is a true powder gun designed to be ridden longer than your traditional board size. It is available in four sizes. Size up 3-8 cm for best powder performance.

A splitboard is a snowboard that splits in half to become a pair of skis. The skis are used to climb and ride mountains in the backcountry, outside resort boundaries. When a rider on a splitboard reaches the top of their chosen line, they assemble the two skis into a snowboard and ride down.

A good splitboard has to climb efficiently and still ride like a real snowboard on the way down. That means a torsionally stiff build that locks the two halves together into one solid board, a directional shape that floats in pow and holds an edge on icy traverses, and a construction light enough for long days on the skin track. Every Stranda split is built on the same proven shapes as our solid boards, with Triax and carbon laminates and aluminum tip and tail protectors added for stiffness, durability, and edge grip in variable backcountry snow.

The best Stranda splitboard depends on your riding style. If you want a playful board that’s easy to turn and virtually unsinkable in deep snow, check out the Tree Surfer BC and Shorty BC Splitboards. These powder surf models are designed to offer amazing float and glide in low-angle terrain and at slower speeds. If you’re looking for a hard-charging splitboard that can stomp cliff drops, hit jumps, and rip steep, technical terrain, grab a Descender BC Splitboard or the Descender Fjäderlätt Splitboard. And if you want a playful split that’s ready to blast airs and slash turns in mixed conditions, mount up a Biru Splitboard.

The Tree Surfer BC and Shorty BC Splitboards are our deepest powder splits. The Tree Surfer BC’s hammerhead nose and short swallowtail deliver crazy float and surfy turns in the trees, while the Shorty BC’s long rockered nose and compact tapered tail are made to be ridden longer for fast, open pow lines. If you love pillows and gullies, the volume-shifted Biru Splitboard floats well above its size. And if your powder days mean steep, technical lines, go for a Descender BC or Descender Fjäderlätt Splitboard in a longer size.

The best Stranda splitboards for riding steeps are the Descender BC Splitboard and the Descender Fjäderlätt Splitboard. Both models have long sidecuts and a stiff flex for predictable edge hold and stability in committing terrain. The Descender Fjäderlätt Splitboard is an ultralight model for riders who go on long tours in the high alpine.
