The Chameleon

Made for creative carving and powder days

The Superglider is a radical directional snowboard that defies convention to deliver remarkable turn performance. A broad rockered nose paired with a long sidecut and flat profile through the center of the board provides exceptional glide and amazing float, while a camber pocket under the back inserts, matched with a tighter sidecut in the tail, unlocks snappy cutbacks and tight carves.
The result is a playful longboard that can haul ass when driven from the front foot, or pivot and slash when controlled from the back foot.

PLEASE NOTE: Ships end of September USA, mid October R.O.W

Performance Profile

Shape Features

Stranda SuperGlider outline

Directional “surf gun” shape with a long nose and tapered pin tail. Combined with a multi-radial sidecut and flat-to-camber profile, the shape offers epic carving and powder performance.

Stranda SuperGlider Camber Profile

Short setback camber pocket under the back inserts for carving power. The center of the board through the front inserts is flat to maximise glide, and the nose has rocker for float.

Core

Lightweight and lively Poplar core with Bamboo stringers for vibration dampening and to enhance edge hold.

Construction

Triax fiberglass with carbon torsion rods running under the core from the inserts to the wide points of the nose and tail for enhanced torsional stiffness and lightning-fast energy transfer.

Base

Hyper-fast Electra Graphite 5920 sintered base that’s infused with graphite to reduce friction and improve glide. High molecular weight for core-shot resistance and excellent wax absorption.

Topsheet / Sidewalls / Edges

Bamboo topsheet with a gloss finish. Impact-resistant PU plastic sidewalls with diamond-polished, lightly detuned steel edges. Edge angles: -1° Bottom, 88° Side

Flex Profile

Medium flex that’s stiffest at the center of the sidecut for unmatched edge hold and carving power. Outside the inserts, the flex gradually softens for easy turn initiation and a looser tip feel.

Sidecut + Power Bumps

Ultra progressive sidecut that’s long in the nose and center for railing big turns, and significantly tighter in the tail for slashing cutback turns. Power Bumps improve edge grip on icy groomers.

Can't wait!
I only just received my Superglider but I am already in love with it. I have been riding several Stranda Boards, and Matts the Shaper and Owner is an Artist. Waiting and praying for snow!

Only rode this board two days during the worst winter I’ve ever experienced in Northern CA so haven’t properly been able to see what it’s all about. Day one. Groomer day. Very interesting turn experience. The turn radius in the front of the board is huge. It feels like you put it on edge and it just wants to go in a straight line. Took some time to get used to it but is a very fun and interesting board to carve. I haven’t fully figured out turning this board yet but it was a lot of fun. Day two. Powder day. My only powder day of 25-26. Waist deep in Tahoe. EPIC day. Board is easy to whip around was slashing through trees and down steeps. Effortless float with all the surface area underneath. And with the amount of float and the quality of the base I was going through very flat areas where no one else dared to travel and just floated effortlessly didn’t even think about getting stuck. Had brought two board thinking that this would be kind of fatiguing and I’d switch out half way through the day but ended up going from first chair to close slashing through powder on the Glider. Even through chopped up snow it was easy to throw around. Was very surprising how manageable it was with my size 8 boots and a 272 waist width. Super fun powder board and one of my favorite days boarding. Also important to note everyone stops you and comments on this board because it’s awesome haha.

Servus Mats, Just spent a morning session on my Superglider. Took me 2 runs to understand what´ s going on. You know that I also ride the cheater but I never Expected such tide turns from board that look like my old longboard. It´ s superfast and at the first 2 runs I almost slingshot me a few times, Especially at the backturn. You were explaining that it have like 8 m radius if you tilt it on edge but For me it felt more like 6m! Thanks a lot for your passion and by the way also for your quick response on my question. Greetings from Bavaria, Walt

I just wanted to let you know that I have just returned from 3 weeks in Austria for my first ride(s) on the Superglider and it is absolutely INCREDIBLE. You are some sort of magician. Of course it is incredible in pow (not that we had much), but what blew me away is the way it can switch between a hard charging, long carving monster to a nimble fast turning playful surf style board simply depending on the rider’s whim. It handled every condition I encountered (and mostly not that great) with ease - it didn’t matter if it was early morning hard cord (which it gripped and ripped) or late arvo slush and chop (which it just danced through). I couldn’t believe it. Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks - you’re a bloody genius. How did you make a board this big perform in so many different ways with such ease? I can’t wait to get it out to Japan next season to really test it in some pow. But I already know it is the best board I have ever (and probably will ever) ride! There are only 2 problems I have found: 1. I don’t like using it when it is crowded because it is so beautiful I don’t want to damage it in the queues. 2. Everyone on the Mountain admires it, so I live in fear it is going to be kidnapped (yes kidnapped, not stolen, because I think of it as my child). I bought a lock for the first time in 25 years! Anyway, just wanted to send you some feedback. I am totally blown away.
