The cord cutter

Made for creative all-mountain carving

Compact and wide, yet built around a long effective edge, the Slicer is designed for riders who want maximum carving performance in a smaller, more agile package. The added width lets riders really lay it over, making laid-out turns feel natural and controlled — with zero risk of boot-out as the Slicer comes as fat as you need 275 or a whopping 285. Edge hold is on rails — calm, locked-in, and confidence-inspiring even at high edge angles. The width makes boot-out impossible, while the shape allows for slashing the sides of a run and catching air over transitions.

Riders wearing boots sized US 11 / EU 44 or larger should ride the Slicer 155XW.

PLEASE NOTE: US order ships mid October.

Performance Profile

Shape Features

Compact, volume-shifted shape with a wide waist and 15mm of taper. The wide waist guarantees no boot-out when you’re locked into high-speed, high-edge-angle carves.

Stranda Snowboards directional camber profile with early rise.

Full-camber profile for predictable control and edge hold with a tiny bit of early rise in the nose for busting through crust and easy turn initiation.

Core

Lightweight, durable Poplar core with four full-length Ash stringers for a damp and responsive board feel.

Construction

Triax fiberglass with carbon torsion rods running under the core from the inserts to the wide points of the nose and tail for enhanced torsional stiffness and lightning-fast energy transfer.

Base

Ultra-fast Durasurf 4001 sintered base with a stone-ground structure optimised for groomed and man-made snow. High molecular weight for core-shot resistance and excellent wax absorption.

Topsheet / Sidewalls / Edges

Chip-resistant TPU plastic topsheet with a gloss finish. Ultra damp PU-sidewalls with diamond-polished, lightly detuned steel edges. Edge angles: -1° Bottom, 88° Side

Flex Profile

Medium flex that’s stiffest at the center of the sidecut for unmatched edge hold and carving power. Outside the inserts, the flex gradually softer in nose for easy turn initiation and a stiffer tail for locked in feel.

Sidecut + Power Bumps

Degressive sidecut that’s tighter in the nose for diving into carves and looser through the middle and tail for railing across the whole run. Power Bumps improve edge grip on icy groomers.

Pure high performance fun
Having been fortunate enough to have ridden the majority of Mats shapes since he started Stranda, I thought I would write another review on this one. The last review I wrote was in 2021, for the still-relevant and outstanding Descender B. C. Splitboard. This board took me by surprise during last season's (25/26) testing. Mats might not have initially realized what he'd done, but he's found a solution to the following problems: how do you make a Cheater that's also enjoyable to ride on busy days on the hill? Is there a way to avoid the exhausting big-board weight but still get similar performance? So, what does Mats show up with. .. the Slicer. This board has the Cheater's soul with some Biru party packed in. A few years ago Mats created the Biru, which filled the "playful" category that was missing from the lineup. Yes, you can still seriously carve it, but it's not as bulletproof in icy/variable conditions as, say, a Cheater is. With the Slicer, you get the drive and dampness from the Cheater's core, but tamed down through a variable radius and reduced effective edge length. This makes the Slicer a much more approachable snowboard for developing your carving skills during those early, icy mornings as well as later into the day when there are more people in your way and the groomers are soft. I highly recommend this snowboard. Do not underestimate the 155cm length.

The slicer is the perfect blend of a hard carving board and an all-mountain bomber. To be honest, I was starting to doubt if I'd ever find a board that feels really good in all conditions and situations, but Mats from Stranda did it again. The tortional stiffness and variable sidecut makes it a great carver that feels at least 10cm longer edge-hold wise, while the short length and shape make it surprisingly nimble for sidehits and slashing. The variable sidecut opens up a lot of tweaking possibilities of your carving. Weight the nose and you turn super tight, weigth the back and you can turn longer with more speed. Mix it up and you are in the gold. I just can't get enough of this board and it literally made snowboarding even more fun for me because it suits the dynamic and mixed up riding that i love to do. It came with a new protective anti-scratch layer on the topsheet, which feels quite durable and will definitely keep it clean longer than the pure epoxy top sheets. Another great choice from Mats for a board that's meant to ride hard.
