OUTLINE
The Shorty features the Diamond Tail, a hook-free design combined with a longer nose for the powder performance of a bigger board – Volume Economy Tech. The result is a forgiving and playful design with plenty of performance when you need it.
BOTTOM SHAPE
We build our snowboards with camber and Tip-Tail-Rocker. We distinguish between standard camber and low camber: with low camber, the centre of the board is slightly elevated and the contact points are further towards the centre. The Shorty has 6 mm camber and is one of the easiest boards to manoeuvre in our range.
core
For the Shorty B.C we use ash wood and a minor part poplar in our cores. Ash is perfect for building high-performance snowboards as it dampens vibrations and holds its camber, extending the life of your board. Adding poplar keeps the weight down. Choosing a premium material also allowed us to reduce the use of petroleum-based composites..

The shorty is the all around quiver killer! My first turns on the shorty were powderful. Face shots, high speeds down in kootaney National Park in Canada, and they were amazing. I was floating in a dream for 1100m of cold canadian powder. I kept riding the shorty and really put its name as the all round quiver killer to the test. It handled a variety of different conditions from cold smoke powder to icy bed surfaces and solid surface crusts, punchy crusts and sastruggi(my favourite word for snow) which is hard wind pressed and scowered snow. It ski’s well too, which is something that is very important to me on a splitboard. When touring the nose being the bigger feature of the shape has a tendency to dip down slightly, but not as if it were heavy. It almost reacts like my ski just needing a slight nudge to get that tip into my hip for kick turns. The shorty had the opportunity to come with me on two of my dream lines close to home. I was incredibly stoked to have something so unique riding these big rockies faces. Mt whymper south east face and carnervon south east face were hard packed for most of one of the runs and I fully trusted the board to hold on. The shape maneuvered with ease in big alpine terrain and was responsive to my every need. If your looking for a board that’s versatile for everything from floating epic powder or crush exposed steeps, this is the ride for you!

Strålende fornøyd med Shorty Backcountry Split! Bra flyt i løssnø og takler også litt hardere forhold helt supert <3

I got my hands on a shorty 169 split last season and I must say this board is pure joy both while hiking and riding the mountains where I live here in Sunnmøre on the west coast of Norway. I’m a camber lover and was surprised at how well the board floats. This board gives you a boast of confidence while riding and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a splitboard that gets the job done and will last for years.
