The Featherweight Beast
Made for fast, light tours and bomber descents deep in the backcountry
This is Karakoram’s flagship split binding — a featherweight beast that hauls light up the skin track and drives hard on the way down. Strip out every gram that doesn’t earn its place, keep everything that locks you to the board, and you get a binding that tours faster and rides harder than its weight has any right to.
No expense has been spared. CNC machined completely from 7000 Series Space-Grade Aluminum and injection molded with Carbon Nyolite, the Prime-X is a featherweight beast. We reduce weight by using stronger and lighter materials such as grade 5 titanium hardware and hollow pins. The Prime-X sets a new standard for backcountry snowboarders. Travel lighter, travel faster, ride harder.
Features
Active Joining — pre-loaded binding-to-board connections give instant response with zero slop
C4 Carbon Highback — progressive Carbon Nyolite profile (flex 8/10)
Dual Ride-Stride — stance from 10° to 22°, walk mode at -8°
Asymmetric Heelcup — high outside sidewall for edge power, dropped inside for turn freedom
AirPod Straps — articulating pressure pods in 30%-lighter P-Lite TPE
Grade 5 titanium hardware & hollow pins — maximum strength, minimum weight
Ride Mode 3.0, Tour Mode, Dual-Speed Risers with on-the-fly Heel-Lock
