The Biru. A one board quiver for advanced snowboarder’s looking for a board that can take over the whole mountain. Awarded a “Best Party Snowboard 23/24” by The Angry Snowboarder, tested as one of the best snowboards 2024 by Outside Magazine (US). As it’s a volume shifted shape with a wide waist, riders should size down 4-5 centimeters. Floaty in powder with it’s long nose and small fish tail. Full camber for maximum pop and send with a tiny bit early rise. Aggressive turned up tail kick for switch landings without consequences. Edge tech for secure grip – we added three PowerBumps® for handling those freeze melt periods. Of course we use a sintered race base. Core is our proven poplar, paulownia and ash mix. So what’s in the name? Biru means devil in Sámi language. So you can say it’s a little devil of a board.

Shape

The Biru features a long powder nose and small fish tail. Full camber with a radically turned up tail kick for easy switch landings. There’s 3 Power Bumps™ added along the edge for extra grip.

Profile

The Biru has a full 6 mm camber with a slight early rise in the nose for ease of turn in.

core

At Stranda Snowboards we base our cores around ash wood and mix poplar and sometimes paulownia. Ash is perfect for building high-performance snowboards as it dampens vibrations and holds its camber, extending the life of your board. Adding pauwlonia keeps the weight down.

Really enjoyable snowboard to ride – edge to edge is easy and intuitive, even rode switch through a natural quaterpipe feature that got quite narrow. The board really shines on edge: when you put in a carve, you can really feel the satisfying feeling of your edge slicing into the slope.

Biru offers both float and effective edge in a nimble, swift package. Really enjoyable.

  2. Pierre Winther

Amazing board , I have been riding the Biru numerous times and it’s just such a good board, it handles powder and piste equals – In powder it floats like a champ and great to maneuver – I had the board up against Burton Family Tree Straight Chuter and home town hero and Biru was right up there with theses boards – I compared it to my Ride Warpig too and it was just better, so I can strongly recommend this board of all my heart ❤️

  3. Ryan Frazer

Very easy to ride and fun at all speeds. Rails on a groomer and handles chop with ease. Seems to ride narrower than the specs would indicate, reasonably quick edge to edge. Its like a supercharged Salomon dancehaul.

First day on the Biru yesterday for me! On a 20cm pow day no less. Awesome float and edge control. Amazing how damp these boards are built I find I can ride a stranda longer on my 40year old knees. My other go to is the bowlrider love it as well. Keep up the good work Mats!
