Choose your freeride snowboard
Five versatile snowboards made for ripping groomers and freeride lines in any snow condition.
Biru
Designed for piste to pow, pillows to park performance
The Biru is an energetic all-mountain board that wants to bounce and carve down the mountain. It’s the most playful board in the Stranda line and has a snappy board feel that’s quick to turn or take flight. A volume-shifted shape with a wide waist width gives the Biru a ton of float for its size, while a tight sidecut matched with a full camber profile and Power Bumps gives it awesome edge hold and carving power. The Biru’s tapered tail has a steep kick for confident switch landings, and it’s designed to be ridden 4-5 cm shorter than your traditional freeride board, which cuts swing weight when you’re getting tricky.
Descender
Designed for all-terrain freeriding and all-mountain freestyle
The Descender is a directional freeride board that’s truly ready for anything. It’s got the muscle to bomb lines and stomp airs and the maneuverability to tic-tac down exposed steeps or take in the park. A medium-stiff flex and a long sidecut give the Descender an exceptionally stable board feel in rough snow, and the minimally tapered full-size tail and rocker camber profile offer ample float and landing gear for deep days and dropping cliffs. It’s the perfect daily driver for freeriders who charge around the mountain looking for fun natural terrain features in firm, funky, or hopefully, fantastic snow. The Descender should be ridden in your traditional freeride size. Size up for more float, size down for technical performance.
Descender Evolution
Designed for aggressive all-terrain freeriding and freestyle
The Descender Evolution is a next-level directional freeride board made for expert riders whose powerful riding style demands a supercharged shred stick. Built with two layers of carbon stringers, an Electra Graphite base, D30 dampening rods in the nose, and a stiffer flex, it delivers a serious step up in performance from the standard Descender. Strong, dynamic riders who push hard into every turn will love the Evolution’s exceptionally damp, responsive and locked-in board feel. If riding in fifth gear through variable conditions is your jam, this is the board for you. Size the Descender Evolution like a traditional freeride board. Go up a size for more float, or down for technical performance.
Bowlrider 2.0
Designed for chasing fresh tracks and all-conditions charging
The Bowlrider 2.0 is a premium directional freeride board that matches standout powder performance with everyday all-mountain versatility. It’s a great board for riders who want a floaty, fast-gliding board that’s both a capable daily driver and a dreamboat in deep pow. A medium flex, mid-length progressive sidecut, and a short round tail give the Bowlrider 2.0 a friendly, easy-to-turn board feel. And with the long shovel nose leading the way, the short round tail comes around quickly, making the Bowlrider 2.0 a slash-happy pow stick that can charge in any conditions. Ride the Bowlrider 2.0 in your traditional freeride board size. Size up for more float, size down for technical performance.
Shorty
Designed for ripping pow and crushing corduroy
The Shorty is a surf-inspired directional freeride board that offers serious powder performance without sacrificing high-speed carving power. A compact, tapered tail paired with a long, rockered nose provides unbelievable float in pow, and a long sidecut paired with aluminum stringers in the nose keeps the Shorty damp, stable, and ready-to-rail on piste. With a longer, less progressive sidecut, the Shorty wants to arc bigger, faster turns than the Bowlrider 2.0, which is tuned for tighter slashes. The Shorty is also designed to be ridden in a longer size, which gives it a powder gun-style board feel. For best powder performance, size up 3-8 cm from your traditional freeride board size.

An all-mountain & freeride snowboard is a versatile board made to handle anything the mountain throws at you, from groomed resort trails to steep natural terrain. High-performance all-mountain & freeride boards offer aggressive edge hold and high-speed stability for riding fast in variable snow conditions and effortless float for blasting through deep powder.
All-mountain/freeride snowboards are designed to be ridden in any snow condition, making shape features and construction elements critical. Compared to twin-shaped, softer-flexing freestyle boards, all-mountain & freeride boards have a stiffer flex to reduce board chatter and maximise carving power, and a directional shape with a longer, wider nose that allows the narrower tail to drop and lift the nose. The stance is also shifted slightly toward the tail so you can weight the front foot and drive into the fall line without folding the nose. Every design feature and material used in a Stranda all-mountain & freeride board is tuned to enhance performance. Our sidecuts, camber profiles, effective edge lengths, waist widths, flex patterns, wood core profiles, and stringers are chosen based on how they make the board feel when riding fast in natural terrain.
Yes, many directional freeride boards carve well because they are built for edge hold, speed, and stability. A dedicated carving board will usually feel more precise carving on clean groomed terrain, while a freeride board is better adapted to variable snow and off-piste terrain.
A wider snowboard can help riders with larger boots avoid toe and heel drag on firm, steep terrain and deep carve turns. Width is especially important if you ride low stance angles or ride aggressively. The best width depends on boot size, stance angles, and riding style.
The best all-mountain & freeride snowboard for you depends on your preferred riding style, the terrain you ride the most, and your stance and boot size. Choose a freeride-focused model like the Descender or Descender Evolution if you ride a lot of steep, technical terrain in variable conditions. If you’re a frothing powder freak, check out the Shorty and Bowlrider 2.0, and if you’re prone to pop ollies and porpoise through the pow, strap into a Biru.
